I love Bodum! I wish I’d looked into this item last year when I finally bought a hand mixer by Cuisinart- it’s white and trimmed with chrome. I do like the Cuisinart model but I think this Bodum has more design merit.

I used to have a Kitchenaid stand mixer but it’s been lost in all the moves. A handy-dandy hand mixer is always useful!

I currently have a Black & Decker mixer which has worked just fine…one of the spinner things broke though so I had to do a little repair. I was debating getting the Kitchenaid stand mixer but I’m not I want it hanging out on my counter. I would use it though – for bread & baking – but how often? Not sure.

I definitely like the look of this Bodum. I wonder if any one has used it yet. Anyone?

p.s. I’m sad that you lost your KA stand mixer in the moves…how do you lose such a large appliance?

I love everything Bodum! (I don’t actually own anything, but I know people who do, and I’m jealous on them=)))
How is it going with lussekatter, Jordana?=)

  4. Cee says:

I’ve been really intrigued by Bodum products lately… suddenly they seem to be everywhere! I’d love to hear a review of this if anyone has used one 🙂

  5. Connie says:

I don’t own any kind of mixer. I should probably get on that.

  6. Thais says:

I love Bodum so much and this is gorgeous, even if it’s just for decorating haha.

    • Jordana says:

Agreed. Bodum makes some beautiful pieces. I like the Bodum French Press but I don’t have this mixer so I’m not sure what kind of workhorse it is.

  7. Rick says:

Bought one for my wife for Christmas. First time used was to mash potatoes. Couldn’t slow it down enough to keep the stuff from flying all over. Mixers flew out and off the unit. Going back to the store tomorrow.

    • Jordana says:

Wow! The mixers flew off the unit? That’s crazy! I find my mixer goes quite fast even on the lowest speed as well. Hope you were able to return/exchange it without a problem. Have you used any other Bodum products? How have they held up?

  8. Stan says:

The Bodum mixer is a gimmick. Looks great but the slowest setting is way to fast. Used it to cream together sugar and butter, as with any cake recipe start and it flung the ingredients everywhere on the lowest setting. The speed adjustment button is not easy to adjust between settings, the power cord is short and the cord crank is clumsy. I can’t return it as it was bought 4 months ago, so it just sits on my counter and looks good now. It’s not designed for real cooks.
