Displaying Collectibles

Many of you already know that I have a slight obsession with anything Parisien…at the top of the list is the Eiffel Tower. Even though I’ve seen it plenty of times, it renders me speechless on each and every visit. It’s an incredibly impressive structure.

Over the years I have slowly collected a group of mini Eiffel Tower structures. I usually have them lined in a row on my bookshelf, ordered by height.

Sometimes my guests rearrange them in new ways – one tower out of line, towers in a zig-zag formation, etc.

Of late I’ve grouped some of them in a lidded glass container.

However they’re grouped, I find clustering this collection in one place makes for a pleasing display.

Many thanks to Seema Persaud at Canadian House & Home for featuring this idea in her Readers’ Top Spring Decorating Ideas article yesterday.

Congratulations on being featured in Canadian House & Home!!! What an accomplishment and a wonderful way to launch spring!

I love your idea of moveable art and that your guests sometimes have a go at it. Your clustering suggestion is a great way to make a visual impact and keep things tidy. Great photos- so stylish!

Thanks Johanne! It is definitely awesome to see House & Home feature this suggestion. I like that my collections don’t have permanent spots around my apartment. When I get bored, I change things around and it’s as though I just went shopping! Funny, right?

  2. I love this kind of personal posts, Jordana! Your collection is really impressive and, unlike my other collections (you know, frog figurines, funny cups etc.), yours is very chic and stylish. And, actually, the more of them you have the better they look together! Lovely.

Thank you so much for the encouragement Antonia! It’s sometimes a challenge to take photos of my surroundings but I do enjoying writing these kinds of post from time to time. Expect to see a few more “glimpses into my life” in upcoming posts.
p.s. I love that you collect quirky and cute things. It’s fascinating to learn about what people collect and why they collect them.

  3. love it! congrats again, jordana. these little collections are perfect!

Thanks so much Katie! Thanks for noticing the H&H post and for coming to see the collection on White Cabana! Any favourite collections floating around your home?

I love your style! So cool that H&H feel the same way.

Collections like yours can add such character to a space when arranged with a stylish eye. I’ll aspire to organize my own “collections” from now on!
